Bringing the indoors outside

We have this funny tradition my husband and I. We like to do something a little bit different each month on our anniversary (we started it so we wouldn't forget the date!). So this time Jason decided that we needed to sleep on the deck. He's been threatening to do it ever since summer arrived so he finally got his wish.

Hehe I didn't take photos so thought I'd put up this one instead :)

It was a beautiful night with stars in abundance and apart from a couple of mozzies I slept pretty soundly.

So there you go. Sleeping on the deck is fun. What other random things have you done?

Fabulous Friday

A couple of weeks ago Jason and I celebrated our 4month anniversary. I know, I know, it's hardly a milestone and I can just hear what you're saying: just wait till you've been married for 7 years and then see what you say! But I just wanted to blog about some of the things I'm thankful for...

I have a really nice home and even if we struggle a little sometimes to keep on top of things, I'm still a whole lot better off than a whole lot of people.

I can make a pizza from scratch and most of the toppings I can get from Jason's veggie garden!
- the first one looked way better but we ate it before I remembered to photograph it -
My health may not be the greatest, but I'm not dead!

I married my best friend who loves me just the way I am, flaws and all.

+he does the dishes without me asking+
+he grows his own veggies+
+he does his own washing+
+he loves my cooking, no matter how it turns out+
+he cheers me up when I'm grumpy+
+he brings me breakfast in bed when I'm weary+
+he tells me I'm beautiful even when that's the last thing I feel I am+
+he encourages me in my dreams+
+he tells me to hope when I feel useless+
+he loves me when I feel unlovable+

and yet...

I have a really big God who loves me and thinks about me much more than Jason ever can or will.
When all is lost - He is there to find us
When all is gone - He remains to be with us
When all is turned to custard - He is there to turn things around for good
When we have gone astray - He is there to turn us back to Him
When the world is dying - He is the life that renews
When sin and darkness threaten to overcome and overwhelm us - He forgives & has already won the victory for us at the cross!!

Thanks God

For all the thoughts I have and cannot put into words - You already know them...
